  8. new custom communications processors to enable 80386 and 80486 PCs to host
  9. high-performance UNIX systems of up to 512 users up to 10 miles from the CPU
  10. with zero degradation of terminal response times.  RIO delivers a ten-fold
  11. increase in bandwith over and above other existing intelligent I/O products.
  12. Remote terminal adaptors, each with its own 20 MIPS processor, support
  13. clusters of workgroups.  Up to 128 user (ports) can be supported by one host
  14. controller car.  RIO is available with RS-232 or RS-422 serial or parallel
  15. ports and DB25, RJ45, or RJ11 connectors.  RIO is the only fuly fault-tolerant
  16. I/O subsystem for UNIX solutions.
